Spain also consider Baptistao

On from reports that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) are finalising plans for Diego Costa, it is believed they are also targeting Leo Baptistao.

The Brazilian born forward has caught the eye with performances through from last season at Rayo Vallecano and is believed ready to qualify for Spanish citizenship, having been in the country since the age of 16.

It is understood that the RFEF are keen for the government to fast-forward an application for the 21-year-old to take duel nationality, so as to include him in plans with the Spanish national team, initially at Under-21 level.

The RFEF are believed this week to also be pushing through a formal written request to FIFA for confirmation that they can consider Baptistao’s Atletico Madrid teammate and fellow Brazilian for the Spanish senior squad.
