Barcelona have confirmed that initial tests show Javier Mascherano has suffered a hamstring injury, with full prognosis due today.
The Argentine was caught by teammate Sergio Busquets’ studs just above the knee early in Barca’s eventual 4-1 win over Real Sociedad on Tuesday night.
Whilst initially continuing, the centre-back was later in the first half replaced by Marc Bartra, struggling with the injury.
Barca have confirmed that initial tests carried out after the game suggest a hamstring injury, which will be determined in more detail in further tests due on Wednesday.
