‘Too early to question Emery’

Jose Maria del Nido criticised Sevilla for lacking attitude against Valencia, but says considering Unai Emery’s future as Coach is too early.

Emery is already feeling pressure from sections of Los Nervionenses’ support, having begun the season with a winless run of five games, compounded by Sunday night’s 3-1 defeat at Valencai.

“When it was 0-0 when each of us had chances to score, neither side managed…we have not had the general attitude necessary at certain moments,” Del Nido reflected post-match.

“Overall, Valencia have had a great desire to achieve their goal and we have not done more than defend, unable to get out.

“And that against a team like Valencia, injured, with quality players, leaves us with a 3-1 defeat.

“Considering the position of the Coach? When there have been 14 signings and the team has changed radically, it would not be good for the project.

“You have to be calm, we have been to Camp Nou and Mestalla, have hosted Atletico Madrid, and that should be taken into account.

“I think that Sevilla should now start to move up from the lower positions in the table.”
