Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis has claimed that the consistency of the squad is what has taken them to second in the table.
The capital club beat Real Valladolid 2-0 on Saturday evening, thanks to goals from Raul Garcia and Diego Costa, to keep up their 100 per cent record this term.
“This team has been almost the same for three years,” he told reporters. “The club has made a huge effort to keep the same base the past two seasons and it shows because we know each other.
“The games that we are playing are very solid, very concrete and we work well game by game.
“We started the game a bit slow and after the talk the coach gave us at halftime we changed.
“He gave us a good talk and in the second half it was different. We dominate the opponent to get the goal and the points.”
