Roberto Trashorras has urged his Rayo Vallecano teammates to find enough belief heading into the weekend test with Barcelona.
The Madrid minnows play host to the defending champions very much as the underdogs, but with their experienced midfielder urging that they find confidence.
“We are facing one of the best teams in the world and the first premise in order to compete and to be able to get something positive is to believe in the chances that we have,” determined Trashorras this week.
“Whatever those may be, we have to believe much in them and that is the only way.
“We must be convinced that anything can happen. Throughout the season, no team has won every game and if we do thing well and are at peak performance then we will have the potential to compete.”
Rayo head into the fixture off the back of three consecutive defeats.
“When you play against these teams, it does not matter what state you or the other team are in. What we have to do is exhaust all the possibilities against a team that we know dominates every facet of the game.
“We all have to be at our highest level. We are playing at home, which is an important factor to consider, and we have to have possession, we will suffer if we cannot take the ball.”
