Isco admitted that his opening strike for Real Madrid at Galatasaray proved the turning point in the eventual 6-1 win.
The young playmaker opened the scoring in Group B’s meeting at the Ali Sami Yen during the first half, before second half goals from Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo turned the scoreline heavily in the Spaniards’ favour.
“I’m happy with the goal and the victory more than anything,” Isco commented afterwards.
“It is a difficult stadium and we have managed a clear result. I think that they began the game with intensity, with players putting us under pressure a lot.
“However, following the goal, we have awakened and we have seen the best of Madrid so as to get those three points.”
