Unai Emery believes that Sevilla will have the opportunities against Barcelona tomorrow, if they put in a strong performance.
Los Nervionenses travel up to Catalonia this Saturday evening for Week 4’s meeting very much as the underdogs and with a Coach who has yet to defeat La Blaugrana.
“We have two realities in a game like this. Theirs, that this is Barcelona, who reach 100 points every year and ours, where we have our chances despite the difficulty of the game. The first thing to believe is that we have our chances if we provide a very good performance. Then, we must have the desire and show it on the field.
“Will I change tactics? There are options on whether or not I reinforce the midfield [to five men with two defensive pivots, as speculated], just as if we can strengthen other positions.
“We will put together a team that I know will push when Barcelona has the ball and will have options to counter-attack when we have the ball.
“Barcelona are going to demand a lot and we have to be close together both in defence and attack.”
Emery commented on the motivational aspect behind taking a team to the Camp Nou.
“For all the directions we offer, people are not stupid. People know what it means to play a match at the Camp Nou, but without going further than our team, we had chances last year at the Camp Nou by playing a good match.
“The chances are there and we have to play with the greatest accuracy possible. We will not be thinking about other things because neither the competition nor Sevilla can give you that option.”
