Bale starts specific schedule

Gareth Bale has begun a specialised training programme to recover him to full fitness at Real Madrid, but he could be in line to feature at Villarreal.

The 24-year-old has missed a majority of preseason having suffered a foot injury and then in seeing negotiations between Tottenham and Madrid over his transfer stall until the final days of the transfer window.

On from completing two weeks with the Wales national team, where he played for 30 minutes in this Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Serbia, the winger has started work in the Spanish capital.

Working for part of training on his own, Bale is seen as having begun a specific workout programme designed to bring him up to match fitness as soon as possible.

Whilst the player is seen as still suffering slight discomfort in his groin in recent days, it is speculated that he could be included in Madrid’s squad travelling out to face Villarreal this Saturday.

Wales boss Chris Coleman has indicated his belief that Bale is not yet fit for anything other than a brief appearance.
