Martin Montoya’s agent has admitted that it will be difficult for his client to renew with Barcelona.
The Blaugrana reportedly turned down a number of offers for the young defender over the summer, with Borussia Dortmund and Inter said to be keen.
However, with his contract ending next summer, the full-back’s representative has conceded that an extension will be tough.
“We do not know what the plans of the club are,” Jose Maria Orobitg told fichajes.com. “We really have not spoken with them.
“First they had to renew players like Tello and Busquets. Now it’s up to Martin.
“Let’s see if we can reach an agreement, but it will be difficult because he does not play.
“If things don’t change by January, then who knows.”
