Valdes, Reina set for Chile test

Victor Valdes and Pepe Reina will both reportedly be handed a run-out for Spain against Chile on Tuesday.

Vicente del Bosque maintained faith in Iker Casillas for Friday’s World Cup qualifier with Finland, despite the 32-year-old’s struggles to get into the team at Real Madrid.

However, it is speculated in the media today that heading into Tuesday’s friendly in Geneva with Chile, Del Bosque will ring the changes, including between the sticks.

AS see it that both Valdes and Reina could be handed minutes in this week’s match, alongside a number of outfield players that did not feature on Friday, or came off the bench.

Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas and Santi Cazorla are seen as likely to start, whilst Roberto Soldado, Alvaro Arbeloa and Nacho Monreal could all feature as well.

It is believed that Koke Resurreccion, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Jordi Alba and Mario Suarez will be the ones to drop out of plans altogether.

Real Madrid’s youngster Nacho Fernandez could also be handed a first appearance for the senior side.
