Alvaro Morata was delighted with his four-goal blitz for Spain, but admitted that the Under-21s still have room for improvement.
The Real Madrid man netted four goals in La Rojita’s 6-2 win away to Austria on Thursday evening, which opened the team’s defence of their European Championship crown won just this summer.
“I am happy, with much enthusiasm, as always when able to represent my country,” Morata has reflected.
“We are a good group and we need to improve on the relaxation that we had in the second half, for the next game.
“It was a difficult game because any game away from home for Spain is. The opponents play with extra motivation and we are happy to have won.
“We are Spain and we cannot afford to concede two goals in any game. We must play with serenity and follow the instructions of our Coach.”
