Spain may release seniors early

Vicente del Bosque will reportedly give some of Spain’s senior squad members the option to return to their clubs after Friday’s game with Finland.

Apparently with the support of the Spanish Football Federation, La Roja’s head Coach will release from the current selection called up a number of players back to their clubs this weekend.

On from the World Cup qualifier to be played on Fruday in Helsinki against Finland, Del Bosque will, say AS, give certain senior players, whose clubs are in European competition this season, an option to either stay with the squad for next week’s friendly with Chile in Geneva, or to return to their clubs for training from the weekend.

It is believed that this list of players includes Xavi Hernandez, Iker Casillas, Victor Valdes, David Villa, David Silva, Alvaro Arebloa, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Ramos and Andres Iniesta.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are all in League action the weekend on from the friendly with Chile and then begin their Champions League campaigns, as do Real Sociedad, the following midweek.
