Isco to skip Spain training

Isco will be a notable absence from Spain’s training session today, after picking up an ankle injury yesterday.

The Spanish Football Federation have confirmed that the Real Madrid playmaker complained of discomfort in his ankle after yesterday evening’s first training session of the week with La Roja.

Tested in that session as a potential back-up for Friday’s World Cup qualifier in Helsinki against Finland, Isco is reported by RFEF as set to miss today’s second workout of the week as a precaution.

The 21-year-old will instead undergo further tests on his injury to assess its status.
