Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has revealed his delight at being called up to the Spanish national team squad.
The 23-year-old has been drafted into Vicente del Bosque’s squad alongside Manchester City’s Javi Garcia for the World Cup qualifier with Finland in Helsinki this Friday, and next week’s friendly with Chile in Geneva.
I It follows the withdrawal of both Sergio Busquets and Inigo Martinez through injury and Nacho could not conceal his joy via his official Twitter account.
“Unbelievable! This is really the best news I could have received. I’m very happy to be going with this national side. Thanks to everyone,” he wrote.
