Luka Modric insisted that Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao was the ‘best of the season’.
The Santiago Bernabeu side claimed all three points thanks to a double from Isco and a header from Crisitano Ronaldo.
And the Croatian midfielder has claimed that his own good performance has been down to a good preseason.
“When you have no preseason it is very difficult to enter the side and get the rhythm,” he told Real Madrid TV.
“This season I have felt much better thanks to the training and the help of my teammates.
“Today the fans enjoyed the game. I think it was the best of the season so far.
“Every time we play we are getting better.”
