Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez has claimed that his side will prove that they can compete in Primera Division.
The Franjirrojos play Levante on Friday evening, but after last weekend’s 5-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, the Coach wants his men to show what they can do.
“When something happens like last week, it’s probably good thing that we’re playing first on a Friday,” he told a Press conference.
“Everyone is waiting to show that last time was just an accident. I’m sure we’ll show that we can compete.
“I do not regret what I said about my players, but I know we have the best team for the budget we have.
“I’m proud of this team. We’re a good side and can be competitive in this League.
“For me it is an honour to be in charge. Sooner or later we’re going to give a lot of joy to these fans.
“I have a lot of respect for [Levante Coach Joaquin] Caparros. He always puts together decent teams.
“They’ll make it uncomfortable for us. They will want to win their first game of the season, so we’ll have to be ready.”
