Ozil: No problem with Bale

Mesut Ozil has reiterated his desire to stay at Real Madrid and says he has no issue with increased competition or with Gareth Bale.

Reports had linked the German international with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, amid the threat of increased competition from Isco and potentially Bale, as well as rumours that contract negotiations were not going well.

However, on from yesterday asserting his allegiance to Los Blancos, the 24-year-old has further clarified his determination to stay at the club.

“I’m proud to play for this club. I’m happy, both in the team and in the city,” Ozil told Bild today.

“I’ve matured as both a player and a person. I have not thought about a change and for me there is no other club.

“When you play in a club as big as Real Madrid, you are always going to have competition. I can handle it well. I am never going to leave for having more competition.

“We welcome any reinforcement, therefore I have no problem at all with Bale.

“I feel the confidence of the Coach. I’m going into my fourth season at Real Madrid and I know exactly what I can give.”
