Alcaraz unhappy with referee

Lucas Alcaraz hit out at the referee for not awarding Granada two penalties against Real Madrid and for not playing enough stoppage time.

The Andalucians fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, but had a couple of penalty appeals, including late in the game a trip from Casemiro on Diego Buonanotte.

“The referee has been rather more permissible with Real Madrid than with Granada,” suggested Alcaraz post match.

“He failed to award two penalties, one for the foul on Piti and another when Casemiro tripped Buonanotte going towards the goal.

“They can whistle for a penalty or not but what irritates me are the fouls, the cards. The final stages with Diego Lopez, any team would have seen a card for that.

“The final whistle came when we were attacking. There were fouls, time-wasting, there could have been another minute or two added.”

The Coach was more positive in assessing his side’s performance.

“I like what I've seen from my team in the whole game. Playing Real Madrid brings a lot of difficulty.

“We did well, both in the first half, in which there were several chances to equalise, and then in the second, which was more back and forth, but Real Madrid were more effective.

“The result didn't work out for us and there were some little things. We could have been more efficient.”
