Diego Simeone has urged his Atletico Madrid team to focus fully on the match against Rayo Vallecano this weekend.
The capital club host their city rivals on Sunday, and the Argentine Coach has claimed that his side cannot afford to look past the Franjirrojos, despite playing Barcelona in the Supercopa next week.
“Believe me, the Supercopa is far from our minds,” he told a Press conference. “Tomorrow will be a tough game for us.
“It’s going to be a demanding match so we have to concentrate fully on the task.
“We cannot afford to think of anything else – that would be wrong.
“Rayo are a brave team who have started well.
“They play with speed and have great technical ability.
“We may make a few changes to the team. I told the players at the start of the season that there may be an element of rotation – but we’ll see.”
