Lucas Alcaraz praised his Granada team for their 2-1 win at Osasuna, even if he also felt they were responsible for making harder work of it.
Goals from Youssef El-Arabi and Hassan Yebda in the first half proved enough for the Andalucians to pick up three points on the road in Week 1, with Osasuna only managing the one response from Francisco Punal.
“Despite the many circumstances of our preseason, the team showed their true face here,” Alcaraz enthused post-match.
“We have debuted some players whilst also played with others who had injuries through last year. The team could have had some uncertainty, but behaved as such and as a collective.
“The team had intensity and had many chances to counter, but when you do not take all your chances, you have to suffer.”
