Casillas wary of Ecuador threat

Iker Casillas has claimed that Ecuador will pose a tough test to Spain in this evening’s friendly.

La Roja play the South Americans in Guayaquil tonight, and the goalkeeper has admitted that it won’t be a stroll in the park.

“We know that South American teams are always hard opponents,” he told a Press conference.

“They run a lot, don’t leave much space and always try to suffocate you.

“It’s going to be hard for us, because the only way that you win is by working even harder.

“Here it is more physical and the style is different to what we’re used to.

“We are delighted to come to South America though. We’ve played a lot here recently so we are accustomed to the travel and the people.

“We come along way because fans want to see the Spanish national team – and that is good.”
