‘Difficult to replace this generation’

Legendary Spanish centre-back Fernando Hierro believes that it will be ‘difficult to replace the current generation’.

La Roja have won the last two European Championships as well as the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

And the 45-year-old has admitted that it will be tough to tough to see this sort of success again.

“I am among those who think it will be very difficult to replace this extraordinary generation,” he told fifa.com.

“Players here, but when we talk about being World or European champion, of higher level selections the world.

“I declare myself a big fan of these players because they are representing the Spanish football in the best way, on and off the field.

“I've never seen a generation of such great talent. If you look line by line, we have tremendous players. Indeed, all are among the best in the world in his position.”
