Sergio Busquets has insisted that his exclusion from the Spain squad is ‘best for everyone’.
The Barcelona midfielder wasn’t named in Vicente Del Bosque’s 21-man squad for the match against Ecuador next week.
And the 25-year-old has explained why he asked not to be involved.
“I don’t like to not be involved,” he told reporters. “But I spoke to Del Bosque and I think it’s what’s best for everyone.
“I’m still having some trouble with my groin and now after a lot of travelling with the tour, perhaps it was not the best to go to Ecuador.
“I have to do some fitness work and strengthen my abdominal area.
“Hopefully when I get back to Barcelona everything will be better.”
