Barca switch stadiums in Malaysia

Barcelona have switched the venue of their friendly game with a combined Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

The match was initially scheduled to take place in the Bukit Jalil Stadium [pictured] but the terrible state of the pitch has forced organisers to move the clash to the Shah Alah Stadium.

Tata Martino’s men trained on the pitch at the Bukit Jalil on Friday and quickly realised the playing surface was not conducive to a game of football, with some observers likening it to ‘more of a beach than a pitch’.

As a result, Barca’s Vice-President of sport Josep Maria Bartomeu and director of football Andoni Zubizarreta asked for another venue to found, and it has now been agreed the match will be moved to the 69,000-capacity Shah Alah.
