Los Blancos comfortably dispatched MLS side LA Galaxy in Phoenix overnight, in their opening match of preseason tournament the International Champions Cup.
In the knockout format, teams advance through rounds before a series of finals are played in Miami next week.
In defeating Galaxy, Madrid have set up an effective semi-final in Los Angeles against Everton.
Managed now by Spaniard Roberto Martinez, the Toffees will play against Carlo Ancelotti’s side on Saturday, for a local time kick-off of 5pm.
The winners will play in the competition final next midweek against the winners from the other semi-final, between two of Ancelotti’s former teams, Milan and Chelsea.
A meeting with Chelsea would also be a quick reunion for Madrid with Jose Mourinho.
