Alcacer back early for Los Che

Valencia striker Paco Alcacer has cut short his holidays in order to try and force his way into boss Miroslav Djukic’s side next season.

Alcacer recently featured for Spain in the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey but has decided to start working with the team right away, and was on the plane that left for pre-season training in Speyer, Germany.

“I’m looking forward to starting and I decided to be here. I want to stay at Valencia and am going to work hard from here on.

“You must take advantage of the opportunities when they are presented to you,” he told reporters.

The 19-year-old may get his wish sooner rather than later because alongside Jonas, who will link up with the rest of the players in a few days time after recently becoming a father, he is one of just two forwards in Djukic’s party.

In addition, the impending departure of Nelson Valdez means he could be one of Los Che’s main strikers next term.

Alcacer spent last year on loan at Getafe, where he scored three goals in 20 La Liga appearances.
