Denis Suarez is expecting a tough FIFA U-20 World Cup quarter-final opponent for Spain in the form of Uruguay.
La Rojita are preparing for a last eight meeting with La Celeste this Saturday evening, having defeated Mexico on Tuesday 2-1 in the Round of 16 thanks to a last minute winner from Jese Rodriguez.
Made to work for the win in that game, the Spanish should expect more of the same if they want a place in the semi-finals, says their young attacking midfielder.
“The South Americans are always tough, they will fight a lot and to the death,” Denis told reporters today.
“It shall be a complicated match, as it was with Mexico.
“The important thing is to get ahead as against the Mexicans it cost us a lot. To score first will be important.
“Uruguay are a team that press a lot and are aggressive in midfield. They are similar to the senior side.
“We saw them in the Confederations Cup, whilst then Spain were able to win.”
