Florentino Perez has explained why Real Madrid have signed Isco and reflected on what he will bring to Los Blancos.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was today presented as a Madrid player, having completed a transfer from Malaga for a reputed €30m.
“He had other offers but he chose the most important club in history,” commented Perez to reporters at Isco’s presentation.
“Here he will find unique players in football and one of the best teams I have ever had as President.
“This club has great players, but is obliged to improve. We want players with a high level of demand and hunger for victory and to win the hearts of our people, aware of the great responsibility that they carry.
“So we present to our fans Isco. At 21, he has conquered football fans with his creative play and range of imagination.
“He is a young man who has had a magnificent season and has thrilled us all at the UEFA Under-21 Championship, earning the highest praise along the way.
“He has also won the 2012 Golden Boy, for the best Under-21 player in Europe, and he has debuted with the national team.
“This is one of those different players that has proven his talent in an historic Malaga team.
“He will seduce Madrid’s fans, who always want more. He comes to a club where impossible is not a word and that has a high level of demand, but we will always support him.
“We believe in him, in his class and in his talent.”
