Iniesta on position, Vilanova & future

Andres Iniesta has conceded that he feels more comfortable in the centre of midfield, as Spain prepare to face Brazil on Sunday.

La Roja play the host nation in Rio at the weekend in the final of the Confederations Cup.

And the Barcelona man has admitted that central midfield is his natural position, whilst also commenting on the difficulties the Blaugrana faced last term.

“Yes, I feel more comfortable [in midfield] because that's my natural position,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“It is no secret for me to say that.

“I have always said that, and it has always been that way.

“There, of course, situations where I have to play in another position, and it's important that I feel at ease.

“It affects you when you see people [Tito Vilanova and Eric Abidal] are not superhuman.

“Those things hurt a lot. Being without your Coach for so many months is hard.

“The idea for me is to continue at Barcelona and retire there.”
