‘Euro 2012 Final perfect, but…’

Jordi Alba has conceded that Spain were ‘perfect’ a year ago in defeating Italy, but that Thursday’s game will not necessarily be the same.

In a rematch of last summer’s European Championship Final, La Roja will come up against the Azzurri in the Confederations Cup semi-final in Fortaleza.

“In the final of the European Championship we played a perfect match in all facets of the game, but that is in the past,” Alba explained to reporters this week.

“Now we have to stand firm with our style of play, which is what has given us our success.

“It is an important fact that the team has conceded fewer goals.

“It is vital to keep a clean sheet in a tournament like that we are playing in.”

The squad are alleged to have been up all night partying earlier in the tournament.

“That about the party is totally false, there is nothing to say. We look to the statement of the Federation.”
