Joan Verdu has explained why he chose to sign for Real Betis and has already outlined ambitions for the new season.
The playmaker was confirmed yesterday as Los Beticos’ latest signing of the summer transfer window, joining on a Bosman from Espanyol.
“The offer, for everything, was irresistible – the city, the League, the club…I’m very happy and eager to do well,” Verdu stated on the move.
“I hope I can do well and with some big games return that confidence.
“We have set ourselves a requirement. In the League we want to be ahead of last year. In Europe, we want to reach as far as possible without giving up on anything.
“This is a unique opportunity and we must fight for it.”
