Villa not concerned with Golden Boot

David Villa has insisted that he is not interested whether or not he claims the Golden Boot at the Confederations Cup.

The 31-year-old scored a hat-trick in Spain's 10-0 win over Tahiti on Thursday, but the forward has claimed that individual awards are of no interest to him, as La Roja prepare to face Nigeria on Sunday.

“Individual awards are fine, but the most important thing is the group,” he told a Press conference.

“Neither Fernando Torres or I are thinking about it – we are just concentrating on being champions when we get out of here.

“We're going into the Nigeria game to win – we want the three points regardless of what that means for the group.

“We have a very complete team here.

“The Coach has a problem that he is blessed with too many good players.

“The players just want to make it difficult for Del Bosque.”
