Valencia defender Jeremy Mathieu has admitted it was an 'easy' decision to renew his contract with the club.
The French centre-back had been linked with a potential move to Barcelona over the summer, but the 29-year-old, who put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2017, has insisted that he didn't think about any other alternative.
“In my head it was a very easy decision,” he told reporters. “I wanted to renew with Valencia.
“We are missing only a few small details, but it is virtually done.
“I want to end my career here and I think that Valencia have understood that.
“I want to thank the club.”
