Barcelona captain Carles Puyol will undergo surgery on his right knee to remove a cyst, reports in the Spanish Press have confirmed.
Several media outlets have insisted this evening that the Blaugrana defender will go under the knife on Wednesday, and will be out of action for between three and four weeks.
The news comes just a few months after Puyol last had surgery on his right knee, which kept him out of the Catalan side’s starting XI between March and May.
Barcelona doctor Ricard Pruna will give a Press conference tomorrow to confirm how the operation went.
