Moreno: No Sevilla talks yet

Alberto Moreno has laughed off growing interest in him for this summer’s work with Spain Under-21s, but admits it would be nice to talk to Sevilla.

The left-back, who has reportedly attracted a number of scouts during La Rojita’s run to the UEFA Under-21 Championship Final, has indicated that he is in no rush to move clubs.

“The truth is that sporting director Monchi has not called me, he will not spend that much on the phonecall,” Moreno joked to AS on the subject.

“No, not from Monchi nor [President Jose Maria] del Nido. I have just received calls from my family and my representative, Javier Moya.

“I have not spoken to Sevilla yet. The truth is that I have a two-year contract and yes, it would be a good time to sit down with the club.

“I have two years left on this contract with the reserves, I have said nothing. For me I hope that we meet, but we’ll talk with the club and my agent. Javier Moya.

“I think anyone who has followed me will not be surprised that I am performing in this tournament, but personally I know that I can give more of myself and I look forward to growing as a player.

“Competition next year with Fernando Navarro? We do not know, I have to decide with the Coach. Fernando is an exceptional player, always well positioned, in defence he anticipates and is always perfect.

“People ask me if I am treated right and with Fernando I do not have anything unwholesome. I have no complaints. The truth is that I am proud to have a teammate like him.”
