‘De Gea one of world’s best’

Alvaro Morata paid tribute to Under-21 teammate David de Gea after Spain’s 3-0 win against the Netherlands.

La Rojita saw goals from Morata, Isco and Alvaro Vazquez settle the tie and Group B in their favour, but De Gea also provided some saves of note to earn his teammate’s praise.

“He is one of the best goalkeepers, not only at Under-21 level, but in the world,” Morata commented afterwards.

“He plays for one of the best teams in the world and plays at a spectacular level.

“All of the team are very happy. We wanted to win all three matches because we are Spain, and we needed to do it in order to secure first position.

“The credit must go to Pablo [Sarabia] for creating two goals. I am so glad to win again and if I am also top scorer, even better.

“When things go well, you have to take advantage. This is football. Things can change in 24 hours. You have to be available to play and score when called upon. Also the opposite.”
