Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema has undergone a minor procedure this week to remove a cyst from the back of his knee.
The striker, who featured for 70 minutes in Les Bleus’ recent defeat to Brazil, underwent an operation this week ahead of the summer break on the injury, which was not serious but an irritation to the player.
Benzema will be sidelined for a short period of time but is expected to be back fit and ready for the start of preseason training on July 15.
