Iker, Torres, Martinez in contention

It is uncertain if Iker Casillas will start for Spain in goal today, but Javi Martinez looks set for a pivot role and Fernando Torres to lead in attack.

Indications from training this week have been that La Roja’s captain could be set for a run-out at some stage in this evening’s friendly against Haiti in Miami, having gone almost six months without competitive football whilst at Real Madrid.

However, whilst the remaining 10 outfield positions look set, both Victor Valdes and Pepe Reina have also worked with the indicated starting line-up, to leave the position between the sticks still uncertain.

Defence is believed to be Cesar Azpilicueta and Nacho Monreal in the full-back positions, flanking Raul Albiol and Sergio Ramos at centre-back.

Javi Martinez is set for a single pivot role in a midfield containing Cesc Fabregas, Santi Cazorla, Jesus Navas and Juan Mata.

Chelsea could see three men in the starting XI, with Torres having worked through recent sessions at the front of this projected line-up.

Probable Spain XI to play Haiti: Casillas; Azpilicueta, Albiol, Ramos, Monreal; Javi Martinez, Fabregas; Cazorla, Navas, Mata; Torres
