Sergio Canales has briefly commented on his withdrawal from Spain’s Under-21 camp through injury.
The Valencia youngster has been forced to leave La Rojita’s training base and end his participation in this summer’s UEFA Under-21 Championship having picked up a hamstring injury in the closing stages of Thursday’s 1-0 win over Russia.
“In Spain I will follow it more as a fan,” Canales told reporters today as he prepared to return home today.
“I told my teammates that I really trust in them and I hope that they get to the final.
“Am I sad? Yes, well, these things happen in football and I am just thinking about recovering now.”
