Madrid to pay €4m for Ancelotti?

L’Equipe believe that Real Madrid have agreed to come forward with €4m to release Carlo Ancelotti from his Paris Saint-Germain contract.

Reports on Thursday have been that the Italian, who Los Merengues are understood to have identified as the leading candidate to replace Jose Mourinho, has a basic agreement with current club PSG to be released this summer.

Whilst it is reported in Spain that a meeting between Ancelotti, his agent and PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Leonardo is due to iron out the details of the Coach’s release, L’Equipe say that the situation is resolved in part thanks to Madrid.

The French publication are reporting that Florentino Perez has agreed to pay €4m compensation to PSG, to buy Ancelotti out of the year that currently remains on his contract at the Parc des Princes.

It has otherwise been believed that Perez was unwilling to pay compensation for Ancelotti, having previously done so for Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini.
