Perez not ruling out Zidane

Florentino Perez has commented that Zinedine Zidane may well be an option to come in as Real Madrid Coach for next season.

The Frenchman is taking up an influential position at the club ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s hoped arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, believed to be in the capacity of sporting director.

However, re-elected President Perez has indicated that should the Italian not manage to release himself from his PSG commitment, then Zidane may be a plausible candidate for the bench.

“He could be the Coach. He has the qualifications and is of Real Madrid,” Perez told Telecinco this week.

“We have still not considered it because we have been very scrupulous with deadlines.

“I will call it an option that we need to assess. For a first job it is a bit…I don’t want to say risky, but he could do with more experience.

“He can lead from the office or from the bench.”
