Celta Vigo President Carlos Mourino has refused to confirm or deny rumours surrounding the future of Coach Abel Resino.
The Galicians avoided relegation to the Segunda Division on the final day of the season last weekend, but reports are that Resino’s position is still in doubt, despite him having another year to run on his deal.
“This is not the time to plan anything. Today we finished with the events and from there we will being planning for next season,” commented Mourino, in reference to a reception by the city mayor for the club, to celebrate their League survival.
“I am thankful for the reception, which is the culmination of a very favourable moment for Celta, especially based on the prospects we had and which drives us to be more committed to our fans and the city.
“We will create a project that causes much less suffering than we experienced this year.
“Survival has been welcomed with great enthusiasm and happiness, especially for the fans to return all that they have given us.
“Such joy has offset all the suffering that we had experienced.”
