Real Madrid are seriously considering a bid for Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, reports RAC1.
According to the Catalan radio station the 22-year-old’s father, former Brazilian international Mazinho, has already given the green light for an intermediary to begin talks with Los Blancos with a view to a proposed move this summer.
Thiago has a rescission clause of €18m in his contract and Madrid are keen to cash in on what they see as a bargain price for a player who made his first appearance for the Spanish national side in a friendly against Italy in August 2011.
However, a number of other top European clubs are believed to be monitoring Thiago’s situation at the Camp Nou, with Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all having expressed an interest recently.
