Jemez to sign Rayo deal soon

Paco Jemez will reportedly renew his Rayo Vallecano contract as soon as this week, after unexpected delays in negotiations.

The Coach, who in his debut season still has the Madrid minnows in with a shout at European qualification heading into the final two rounds of action, has been in talks over a new deal since March.

Whilst initial reports indicated that an agreement between club and Coach was quickly reached, delays have hit its completion.

With his current deal expiring in the summer, speculation was that reported interest from Malaga had turned his head.

However, it is understood that Rayo’s struggles in clearing financial terms offered to Jemez with their administrators backed up the process but that in now having had everything cleared, the 43-year-old will pen a two-year extension.

The new deal apparently includes a clause making provisions for if Rayo are relegated, with Jemez set for a 50 per cent pay decrease in that eventuality.
