Malaga already signed four?

Malaga are reportedly taking steps to renovate their first team squad next season and reportedly already have four signings wrapped up.

The club, who have endured a difficult 18 months off the field under owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani, are reportedly planning to refocus philosophy in the summer towards a model similar to that of Borussia Dortmund and Porto.

With Al-Thani’s apparent improved interest in the club amid reported success in another investment in the region, a project focused on buying at low cost, developing youth and selling for higher prices is taking precedence this summer.

Apparently the club has already secured the signings of four unnamed players for next summer – a full-back, a centre-back of Portuguese nationality, another defender and a Spanish midfielder.

Malaga, who are reportedly set to lose Coach Manuel Pellegrini in the summer to Manchester City, are also said to be targeting the Dos Santos brothers Giovani and Jonathan, as well as renewing Martin Demichelis’ contract that expires in the summer.

Another priority would be to move on the players identified as on high cost contracts, including Joaquin Sanchez, Jeremy Toulalan, Carlos Kameni, Sergio Sanchez, Julio Baptista and Sebastian Fernandez.

Meanwhile, Javier Saviola and Pedro Morales will reportedly not be handed new contracts, whilst Oguchi Onyewu, Roque Santa Cruz and Lucas Piazon will all not be retained once their loan deals end.
