Celta Vigo midfielder Quique De Lucas faces a possible disciplinary fine for comments made about referees at the weekend.
The 34-year-old commented yesterday that officials should be investigated for betting, in relation to his frustration at recent decisions made in Celta Vigo games.
The Galicians saw an equaliser in their 1-0 defeat at Real Betis on Sunday ruled out incorrectly for offside.
The Spanish Football Federation’s Technical Committee of Referees, who have reportedly dropped the linesman in question from his next game, have reported De Lucas to the RFEF’s disciplinary board for his comments.
The player’s comments are seen as having undermined the dignity of refereeing and called into question its integrity.
For similar comments made earlier in the season, Gerard Pique and Angel Di Maria have both been handed fines.
