Varane out for two months

Real Madrid report that Raphael Varane underwent knee surgery today and he could now be sidelined for up two months.

The Frenchman damaged his knee playing in Saturday evening’s 1-1 draw at Espanyol, with initial tests confirming that it was serious enough to require corrective surgery.

The club have confirmed that that procedure on the player’s torn meniscus has been performed on Monday successfully and that now the player will begin a recovery period set at a maximum of two months.
