Both Victor Valdes and Javier Mascherano trained with their Barcelona teammates today, to provide a double fitness boost.
Valdes has been out for the week with a foot injury, which also saw him miss last weekend’s win at home to Real Betis.
However, in looking ahead to Sunday’s trip to Atletico Madrid, the No 1 returned to the main group in Friday’s training. Whilst lacking medical clearance, it is seen that the 31-year-old will be available for the trip to the Vicente Calderon.
Meanwhile, Mascherano appeared for a third consecutive day alongside his colleagues as he too steps up his recovery from injury, working back from knee ligament damage sustained at the start of April.
