‘Result not reflective of the game’

Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that his Malaga team deserved to win by more than 2-1 against Getafe.

Weligton and Roque Santa Cruz gave the Andalusian club the three points they needed to move up to fifth in the table.

And the Chilean Coach has conceded that his side bounced back well from last weekend’s loss to Valencia.

“I think the result does not reflect the play of the two teams,” he told a Press conference.

“If we review it, they only had the goal. Whereas as we had a number of chances – at least six clear chances I think.

“We needed some changes after the last game. I was not satisfied with the 5-1 loss [to Valencia] and we had to find alternatives.”
