Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho has admitted that Saturday night's win over Atletico Madrid was 'very important'.
Los Blancos came from behind to beat their city rivals 2-1 at Vicente Calderon yesterday evening.
And the Portuguese centre-back has conceded that it was a confidence-boosting victory ahead of their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
“We played very well, winning is always important after a match that you have lost, and this was a derby,” he told the club's official website.
“This win is very important for the team and we want to show the same attitude against Borussia to try to get to the final.
“We showed the strong character that we have and we'll try to show it again to win the match on Tuesday.
“Above all we are together and we want to play better than in the last Champions League match. We know it is important for us and for the club and on Tuesday we will give everything on the pitch.”
